How you can help

As a volunteer organization, CMSI relies on the skills of professional and non-professional volunteers as well as donated goods and services. The type of equipment the organization seeks and has received is varied and has included computers and computer servers, a mammogram machine, ventilators, pediatric formula, vitamins, diapers, and hospital linens. The equipment and services, which may seem basic to many in the developed world, make a tremendous difference in the lives of the children we serve.

Medical professionals regularly volunteer their time and services. A wide range of professionals have lent a hand, including pediatric surgeons, occupational and speech therapists, neonatologists, pediatric surgical nurses, and rehabilitation teams.

Bonnie Jamaica 049In a recent project, CMSI took the first neonatal ventilators to Jamaica as well as a respiratory therapist who trained the local medical staff.  However, one does not need a medical degree to volunteer. CMSI will find a way to incorporate the skills of any volunteer into our services. We often hear our volunteers describe their experiences as rewarding and fulfilling.
